Some of us said it looked like an Olympic track.

We also really enjoyed seeing the cool shoelaces and the different outfits for United Nations Day. Some of us wondered if there was a booth for the United States.

It is great that so many different classes got involved with the fund-raising! I bet the whole school felt good about joining together to help out. It is a great feeling to do things for other people!

Congratulations!

From,
Mr. SalsichJonah Salsichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09782271487281651187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8946254505507504979.post-50295540758145955112010-10-27T15:46:43.641-07:002010-10-27T15:46:43.641-07:00Dear Team Toa,

We just started multiplication today, and we noticed we could use some skip counting with the laps to get miles. We talked about: 4 laps being a mile, 8 laps being two miles, and 12 laps being three miles... It's fun to find patterns!

You mentioned that people dressed up in their national costumes. We're curious, where are people from? Which countries were represented?

Also, we have been talking about the American school system. To my knowledge, that means the parents are from America, but are working overseas? Am I correct? If so, what kinds of jobs do people have? How long do many families stay?

We have lots of questions! :-)

Your friends,
Mrs. Y♥llis and classMrs. Yollishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08553708205781596148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8946254505507504979.post-20335666626620218782010-10-27T14:55:01.730-07:002010-10-27T14:55:01.730-07:00Dear Mrs. Toa,

Every child in our school from PreK4 up through 5th grade participated.

United Nations Day is celebrated around the world on October 24. We celebrate it every year at our school so the walk fit in well with the time. Students dress in their national costume. There are different booths to represent different countries (all organized by our wonderful parents). It is all so much fun.

I really enjoyed all the slide shows and seeing the different communities.

Your friend
Mrs. ToaMrs. Toanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8946254505507504979.post-650384130234223812010-10-27T00:02:26.152-07:002010-10-27T00:02:26.152-07:00Dear Miss Jordan

We don't really have a lot of other areas to walk outside of our school.

SAS has six schools on two different campuses so at our campus there is an elementary, middle, and high school. Each school has a principal. The superintendent looks after all the schools. (we used the high school track!)

I can't wait to see how much money we raised. I am sure we have raised enough for the land-it's very exciting.

Your friend
Mrs. ToaMrs. Toanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8946254505507504979.post-75745834738641514772010-10-26T23:10:29.636-07:002010-10-26T23:10:29.636-07:00Wow! I think it wouldn't be so fun if we had to walk every day though!

@ Jamie
Our superintendent did one lap of the track. He walked the opposite way around so he got to see everyone.

@ Carly
Everyone took their water bottles with them. We even took our snacks to eat on the way!

@ Shawn
We had a lot of fun. We skipped, hopped, ran, jumped, walked backwards, and sang songs.

@ Edo
We didn't stop to have water. We all carried our water bottles or just put them at the side of the track. We did need to drink a lot though. Our whole elementary school came out so that is more than 400 students!

@ Gal
I thought 3 miles was a long way! We started just after 10 o'clock and finished at 11 o'clock. We only walked on our track so there were no hills.

@ Mikayla
We enjoyed singing the Hello song. we sang hello in many different ways too. We added In New Zealand they say Kia Ora, in Samoa they say Talofa.

@ Aidan
Our booth was great. We had a money jar which was filled with money by the end of the day!

@ Grace
Isn't it cool that both you and we did three laps. Imagine how much we all walked together!

@ Justin
The weather was warm. Around 24 degrees Celsius (I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit). We didn't take breaks, we just walked and drank our water and walked some more. It sure was tiring!

@ Philip
May of our students were dressed in their National costume but we remembered to bring walking clothes and yes, we had walking shoes.

@ Emily
Aren't the costumes cool. I especially like the Korean dress.

@ Jazmin
Thanks for your comment. I think we all had great slide shows. All different and all good!

@ Ryan
I really liked your word stupendous!
Our track is in our high school which is on our school grounds.

@ Ella
Adrienne was sick the day of our walk and she was so sad to be missing out, so we got a photo of her and carried it around for the day. She enjoyed seeing photos of herself throughout the day

Whew! That's a BIG comment.
Thanks for all your feedback my blogging buddies.
Your friend
Mrs ToaMrs. Toanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8946254505507504979.post-15102524755973082802010-10-26T20:12:29.240-07:002010-10-26T20:12:29.240-07:00Dear Shanghai,
